“Project 555” is the codename for an upcoming NFT project by Tim Ferriss. That’s me. It’s going to be highly stylized and unlike anything I’ve ever done.

I started buying BTC in 2012–2013, I began collecting NFTs in early 2021, I quietly launched my first stand-alone NFT (also my first published fiction) in February 2022 with PROOF/Kevin Rose, and this will be my first in-depth NFT project. It’s going to be very elaborate and unbelievably bizarre.

100% of primary sale proceeds will go to the Saisei Foundation. The Saisei Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit private foundation that funds cutting-edge scientific research and other initiatives related to psychedelic medicine, mental health therapeutics, life-extension technologies, ecosystem conservation, indigenous knowledge preservation, and more. The Saisei Foundation was created by me to fund uncrowded bets that I think matter.

Past grants and success stories include many firsts—psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression, phase III clinical trials for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD, the first dedicated psychedelic research center in the world (Imperial College London), the first dedicated psychedelic research center in United States (Johns Hopkins Medicine), the Harvard Law Project on Psychedelics Law and Regulation (POPLAR), The Ferriss – UC Berkeley Psychedelic Journalism Fellowship (overseen by Michael Pollan), and more. The above have led to study publications in leading journals (e.g., The Lancet, NEJM) and media coverage (NYT, WSJ, GQ, and dozens more) around the world.

The total number of NFTs is TBD. The exact mint date is also TBD, but it's likely somewhere between three weeks and three months from now. I'm giving away a limited number of spots on the allowlist to you, my dear subscribers, to mint (buy) the "Project 555" NFTs on mint day. Winners will be randomly selected, and they will receive special access to mint an NFT on mint day. You are not making any commitment right now by registering, even if you ultimately win a spot.

If you’re a trader who expects free money by yelling on the Internet when you’re unhappy, please do not participate in this project. In fact, if you’re a dick online at all, please sit this one out. There are plenty of other NFT projects that will promise the moon, and you can harass them. I promise nothing other than (1) good art (IMHO), (2) perhaps some entertainment and a few laughs along the way, and (3) aiming to do some good with the Saisei Foundation. That’s it.

There is no planned utility, no planned roadmap, and no planned Discord… but there might be a few fun surprises. This is an experiment that I’ve been thinking about and planning for the better part of a year. The art in the profile picture is a placeholder (I dig it and it’s new), but it doesn’t reflect project art. Project art will be amazeballs. You'll see.
